Senior Director of IT Operations

Managed and maintained all systems for multi-million dollar publically traded ecommerce retailer.  Responsible for all system setup, design, and daily operations.  Including, multiple Data Centers across the country with a  user base of 800 users with roughly 300+ servers.  Technologies included are Windows Server infrastructure, VMware, VMware View VDI, Citrix Xen Desktop, Microsoft Dynamics, IIS, SQL, Solar winds Orion.  EMC San’s, Dell Servers and Blade centers as well as Cisco and HP switching technologies.  Helped maintain PCI DSS 3.0 and SOX compliance with all IT Department activities.

Key role in deploying and maintaining VMware infrastructure and remediating environment with best practices in mind for sound operation.   Hardened infrastructure to help make it more reliable and resilient for the Enterprise.  Completely redesigned all of the IT infrastructure for a salable highly resilient environment boasting 100% up time to our customers.

Developed multiple project plans and POC’s for high level infrastructure projects.  Mentored and assisted IT personal as needed to further their development within the enterprise.

Lead team of 22 technicians and 4 managers to maintain 24/7 365 operation servicing millions of customers with 100% up time to our user base helping the company grow to 400+ million dollars in revenue.  Supported full life cycle of customer transaction from entering our eCommerce site to shipping their order from our fulfillment centers.

Worked as Subject matter expert for IT Infrastructure related projects and initiatives and acted as subject matter expert in all areas of IT infrastructure and IT Operations.

Manager of Information Technology Operations

Responsible for all technology design, planning, implementation and support for a $200 million dollar Managing General Agency (MGA).

Managed 3rd party relationships and service level agreements, which included negotiating with service providers to obtain the best terms for the corporation, while insuring that all provisions of the agreements were being met.  Including CapEx/OpEx budget of $2 million.

Lead Project Manager on all IT related infrastructure projects which included resource management, estimating, scheduling and Team member definition. Lead the IT operations team with the philosophy of the Kaizen in mind, (constant process improvement).

Led all information technology projects including design recommendations, RFP/RFQ development, contract negotiations and implementations

Managed multiple SaaS development projects to bring custom applications to the user base as well as gain efficiencies with current Application and reporting systems.

Managed and directed support for six additional entities with common ownership. Responsibilities included daily operational and business applications support as well as Management of the IT Operations Group.

Responsible for supporting 300 end users, believing these end users are my customers and deserve exceptional customer service.

Provides support for 18locations throughout the nation: Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, New York, Louisiana, Texas, California, Nevada and Oregon.

Implemented and managed and refreshed entire security solution to protect entire network from Spam, Viruses, and Attacks.  Hands on role in testing and deployment of all Technology for the Corporation including a virtualization initiative deploying over 300 VMware View Desktops and Virtualizing the entire data center to 100% Virtualized environment.

Implemented companywide Cisco VOIP solution to our 14 branch locations, saving the company on Telco and administration of users across the WAN.

Designed and managed Disaster recovery site with real time replication to a secured NOC for DR scenarios. Utilizing EMC Avamar, San Replication, VMware SRM, VMware and Dell Compellent.

Changed the attitude of the department to a more customer centric department with the goal of “Raving Fan’s” in mind.

Senior management for one of the top systems integrator in the country.  Started as an IT Manager developing systems and procedures to properly effect change in the field.  Worked closely with Operations Group to create a custom reporting and accounting application for Alarm monitoring and field access.

Lead Project Manager for all IT Operations and Business Operations initiatives.  Controlling resources and job flux while managing C level expectations.  Direct role in all Business Processes including field operational SOP’s.

Utilized VOIP, MPLS, Cisco and terminal services, and various accounting and product management software to transform the company into a secure computing environment.

Planned and developed a disaster recovery plan for all phases of the business including field management to hot collocation infrastructure sites.

Director of Information Technology

IT Director for one of the largest correspondent mortgage lenders in South Florida.  Balanced tactical actions to accommodate aggressive corporate growth and flux while maintaining strategic vision for overall technology operations.

Designed and Implemented 285 node network including 4 Domain Controllers utilizing AD, DNS, and DCHP, 8 File servers, automated dialer with 185 stations, Sql server with multiple CRM databases, BCM server,  Fax Server, Security server including Sniffer technologies and antivirus and spy ware services for increased network security.  Developed our own web based Underwriting system to allow processing and billing to branch offices and customers.

Lead Project Manager for all IT Operations and IT Development Projects.  Worked with outsourced Development teams to create and develop a custom underwriting application using VB and SQL.net.   Project lasted two years and allowed the company to completely automated the Underwriting process from quote to bind.

Implemented VPN’s to our remote offices located in Northern Florida and Michigan.  Utilized remote offices for Nas disaster recovery technologies and remote office functions to increase productivity and profitability.  Developed Fail safe disaster recovery systems such as redundant data drives with mirroring technology and various remote NAS devices to deliver our data to multiple fail safe locations to increase availability and security of confidential company data.

Deployed security measures to protect our infrastructure from attacks.  The techniques developed lead to zero downtime due to hacks or virus attacks.

Key role in building company from 20 employees to 285+ employees.

Reduced IT spending from 4 Techs to only 2 over time with specific IT time saving software to increase overall IT productivity and TCO.

Provided system administration and network support to retail /wholesale customers across South Florida.  Sold services, software, and hardware to accommodate customers IT growth and needs.  Developed Multiple Ecommerce sites for small to medium sized companies.
